Illustrated Records/ my practical approach to learning

My practical approach to learning.

The magazine British Journal of Photography is a weekly photography magazine that gives me lots of information from cameras to camera prices, Techniques to up and coming photographers. This magazine gives me inspiration and inspires me to go out and photograph. Every week this magazine gives you new and interesting ideas.

I have scanned a few pages out of this magazine to show examples of what i mean.
This screen shot below shows you a photograph of the new Canon eos 1d Mk IV.
This research shows how cameras are getting better and what new cameras are coming to the market.
I think reading this information about cameras makes me understand how they work and what types of cameras are good for different types of photography.

This page is showing different ISO settings.

Here are more British  Journal Photography magazine i have bought over the weeks.

Here is another interesting thing to know. Before i used to buy these magazines i didn't know i could someone or a company could fund you money to do a  dream shoot. This funding would be useful to know for when i ever have a project where i need money to do a shoot.

Its also good for camera prices and buying equipment.

18/11/09 issue below

Below are pages from this issue and i think it is one of the best issues i own.
i think the page below is really good because it gave me lots of ideas on how i can shoot in a studio.

This issue like the others gives you links and businesses i could go to for my prints.

The magazines also show photographers work.

25/11/09 issue

the magazine also has information on copyright. which is good to know.

2/12/09  issue

This weeks issue gives you information on range finders and explains what is good and bad about the leica m9

Watermarking

This is my water mark. I have my name at the top and my email address at the bottom.
I use this watermark on most of my photographs that are going on the web for copyright.
I have this watermark on the bottom left hand side of my photographs. Sometimes depending on the image i move my watermark so if someone does try to crop the photograph then they will crop most of the photograph witch means it want be good enough to use.

This photograph has my watermark on at the bottom left hand side.

This screen shot shows how i can crop the photograph.

Below is the same photograph but this time it has been cropped.
I suppose someone could crop this photograph and take it but the site i use to but my photographs on "flickr" has the option of copy wright fraud.

When you have uploaded your photograph you can click below the image and click on the simple
That looks like this (C)

(Example)

once clicking on (C) it gives you different options of copyright.
(Example)

With this screen shot below you can see i have cropped the photograph on the left so the watermark has been cut and you can see how it has changed.

This one below has been cropped more at the bottom and maybe they want the full photograph but cant because my watermark is in the way.

I am thinkin now having done and gone though this process making my watermark bigger.
Having my watermark bigger is harder for the person you use my image,

Theme (English Breakfast) 2 weekly project

This is my final photograph for the theme 'English Breakfast'. I always had an idea of producing two photographs in one and have wanted to do something like this in the past. The reason i didn't is you need a interesting subject and also it needs to tell a story. I think this photograph both them two things. I think this photograph will shock people and i hope it does because that was the intention i had. Martin Parr is a photographer i have liked for some time and i know he doesn't do things as harsh and bold as this shot but i tried to photograph the food in the same way he does.
