When we were set a brief on the theme of 'time' I thought this could mean anything. I had lots of ideas running though my head the challenge was to come up with a good idea, something that no other person will do and that's when I started to struggle. My first idea was a clock in Preston bus station which isn't working and was going to try and get the clock in focus and everyone else rushing round. I was going to create this impression by doing a long exposure. I thought it could be interesting and would be the first time I have done a long exposure of people.
My other idea I had was to again do a long exposure of a cars but thought it was to easy and other students will do it too. My problem was I was thinking too hard about handing a photograph in on time and I also wanted my photograph to be meaningful which I found difficult.
Before I went to Barcelona a just got this project and I thought it would be good to try and capture time in another country and also try to interact with people in another culture. The photograph below is my final photograph for the Time project.
I think this photograph represents time in a way of people who are busy, rushing to stay dry. With this photograph I think shows a mood and I think when you are trying to get that 'decisive moment' is really hard. One way of showing people rushing is to make your shutter speed slow and that is what I have done here in this shot. At the time I took this shot it was raining and people everywhere were pushing and trying to stay dry from the rain. I wanted to capture the faces and show a moment but my shutter speed was too slow. I think this photograph is better with a slow shutter speed and I like the idea that you can't see their faces.
